Some sentences from the EQ magazine interview with Perc:

Perc

“It sounds bad to say it, but if you want something doing well, you do it yourself,” Perc about his own label Perctrax.

“I never intended to get a reputation as a remixer, But in the last year, that seems to have happened. Recently my mixes for Trentemoller, Robert Babicz and DJ Hell have been the biggest ones. Now, for the first time, I’m turning down the majority of offers. I want to concentrate on my own productions a little bit more.”

“I get house guys saying to me, ‘I don’t normally like this sound, but the way you do it really works for me, At the same time, people I see as fairly hardcore minimal guys who just play a select few labels tend to find something in what I do to pick up on.

“I can’t stick on one sound for too long and I like mixing things up. It stops you getting pigeonholed. I’ve been doing this for five years, which is quite a long time, so I’m keen to keep moving things on. I can’t keep listening to the same thing from the same producer – if I like their sound, I like them to move on – and I hope people recognise that in me.”

After successful releases in Kompakt and Drumcode, Perc prepares a magnificent debut in the city. the Corporation is happy to announce Perc is in town on November 3rd, 2007 @ Bar 13, hosted by the corporate Biatches Pito, Karraskilla and Switch.
Bar 13 is located on 35 E 13th St, new York, NY 10003
